GLEEKS

Hello my fellow gleeks, just wanted to warn you you that theres no glee tonight sadly.
it will be on next week and soon the Halloween episode will be on I don't know about you guys but I wanna see that.

Island Man

Island Man (for a Caribbean island man in London who still wakes up to the sound of the sea)
by Grace Nichols
.
Morning
and island man wakes up
to the sound of blue surf
in his head
the steady breaking and wombing
wild seabirds
and fishermen pushing out to sea
the sun surfacing defiantly
from the east
of his small emerald island

.
He always comes back
groggily groggily
comes back to sands
of a grey metallic soar
to a surge of wheels
to dull North Circular roar
muffling muffling
his crumpled pillow waves
island man heaves himself
another London day

Where do you want to wake up?

I would want to wake up in Soctland. My Dad is from scotland but hes never been. He says it's beautiful, I always thought of the open fields filled with sheep and hay bills. But when i think of scotland i think of hagus and kilts. When I turn 30 i hope to there with a few friends and fanily.

Khaleefa's Preformance

4. Specific things you enjoyed about Khaleefa's presentation.

- I like how he had a rhythm to his poetry it made it really intersting to listen to.
-I also liked how he wrote about things that were true.
-Another thing i enjoyed about Khaleefa's performance is that he made sure he was comfortable with us.

3.Things that Khaleefa's did or spoke about that you can use to help inspire and develop your own poetry.

- He told us that all of his poems came from the heart.
-He also said he took time off of school to follow his dream and that made for more time to write more poetry that came from everyday things.
- And reading about stories and fictional characters can he too.

2. Questions you have for Khaleefa.

- Did you ever think of doing a Riannah and Eminem kind of thing to your own rap?
- Who is your favourite poet?

1. A sentence summary of why Khaleefa is a  good role model.

- Khaleefa is a good role model because he is following his dream in becoming a poet and is telling us to never give up in our dreams.

Gingerness

Hi everyone! Jumanh left me a very important comment about me. she told me I forgot to tell everyone about my hair( hens the title). I have red hair that everyone mistakes as orange hair. Although they call me ginger only because I have blond and brown mixed with red. So thank you Jumanh for commenting about that. Thanks Jumanh you rock girlie!!!

ERIC WALTERS

I can't believe Eric Walters is coming to our school. I always dreamed of meeting an author that I love and finally I get to live the dream. I would like to thank Miss.Pollock for getting him to come and I would also like to thank Mr.Glossop for introducing his book to me (Safe as Houses). Now i am reading Branded and then wounded. I hope to read all of his books. Again Thank you so much Miss Pollock. Oh and of course Eric Walters for taking the time off to come and visit our class. I'm speechless now.

empathy!

EMPATHY

Empathy is when you know how someone feels, an example is when you see someone is being ignored or bullied and you have felt that way to you feel empathy for them. Empathy is a feeling, you feel pity for them or you know what they are going through or anything that makes you feel that same way you do.
